ANJ publishes strategic plan for upcoming few years

The ANJ has recently published a strategic plan for the period between 2024-2026.

The regulatory authority started off its latest announcement by mentioning the progress it and the French gambling market have made throughout the past few years, with the industry experiencing a growth of more than 50% since its launch in 2011 in the country. However, the ANJ mentioned that problematic gambling still generates too great of a portion of the market’s total revenue, with the most recent figures from 2019 indicating that close to 40% of the total stems from such behaviors.

The ANJ aims to improve the safety of the French gambling market with its latest long-term plan, which will be structured on three main objectives. The first of these goals is to reduce the prevalence of problematic gambling along with the number of problem gamblers throughout the country. The plan’s second main objective will be to continue enhancing the ANJ’s fight against unregulated gambling, while the third one will focus on the market’s economics and aim to provide solutions to many of the sector’s largest challenges.

Lastly, the authority mentioned that its strategic plan will also involve collaborations with other European gambling regulators, along with the expansion of its knowledge base of the French gambling market’s key variables to further enhance its efforts.
