Bally’s terminated Pennsylvania casino agreement
Bally’s terminated its agreement with SC Gaming to develop College Township in Pennsylvania.
Bally’s Corporation is an American gambling, betting, and interactive entertainment company headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island. The company operates thirteen casinos across ten states, a horsetrack in Colorado, and online sports betting operations in fourteen states.
The company agreed to develop College Township in Pennsylvania together with SC Gaming almost three years ago. Now, the company explains that since then, the plans have been significantly changed.
However, on contrary to Bally’s, SC Gaming stated that the project will proceed as planned and that the casino is still on course for its H1 2026 opening.
Ira Lubert, the sole owner of SC Gaming, commented on the news:
“As a part of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s application and approval process, I demonstrated to the Board my resources and capability to independently develop and operate this casino project without reliance on a third party, including Bally’s. We remain on track to bring this transformational development to life for Central Pennsylvania, and I wish Bally’s continued success in their exciting ventures, including major projects in Chicago and Las Vegas.”
Bally’s Chicago project
In early summer, Bally’s representatives claimed plans for a permanent Chicago casino in the River West district. Moreover, recently, GLPI acquired Bally’s Chicago casino land to boost the development of Bally’s Chicago.
