Betfred extends The Derby sponsorship contract

Betfred has recently expanded its sponsorship deal with the Epsom Derby.

Through this latest extension, Betfred will continue holding the popular thoroughbred racing event’s naming rights throughout 2026 and will support an expanded set of races over the race’s two main days. This will result in a total of six supported races for the operator, furthering its commitment to the sport.

Betfred’s Fred Done commented:

“Following the memorable 2023 edition of the Derby, we are delighted to expand our collaboration with the Jockey Club to maintain the popular thoroughbred race’s leading position in the sport and continue providing support.”

The MD of Jockey Club Racecourses, Amy Starkey, remarked:

“We have worked with Betfred on a variety of major races over the years, and we are delighted to have this opportunity to expand our working relationship with the firm following the successful 2023 installment of the Derby. Our partner’s dedication to the sport is quite immense and we are eager to work together closely in 2024 to continue promoting thoroughbred racing.”

This extension follows Betfred’s initial announcement of becoming the title sponsor of the Derby back in April of last year, through which the firm secured the title sponsorship rights of the popular event for a period of three years.
