Betsson’s Betsafe and flagship brand approved to operate in Peru

Betsson‘s flagship brand and Betsafe platform have received approval to operate in Peru.

A subsidiary of the operator company has secured its first local licences for online casino and sports betting, covering both brands.

Since starting its operations in Latin America in 2008, Betsson has established itself as the most well-known sports betting company in Peru. With the debut of its Betsafe brand in 2019, the Group further solidified its stance in the nation. Betsson said it intends to gain a new licence soon that will allow Inkabet, a Peruvian-facing sports betting and online casino brand acquired in 2021, to operate in the actively regulated market.

Betsson president and CEO Pontus Lindwall said:

“We have really looked forward to Peru introducing a local regulation and are very pleased with the issuing of these licenses. With this announcement, we affirm our commitment to the local economy and the new regulatory framework in the country.” Betsson began its operations in Peru in 2008 before the launch of Betsafe in 2019, with Inkabet following after its acquisition.

In addition to the recent licenses, the Group is also licensed in Argentina and Colombia.  In Argentina, Betsson has licenses in Buenos Aires City, Buenos Aires Province, and Córdoba.
