Blueprint Gaming, the popular slot developer, has announced its collaboration with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in the release of a brand new title that is based on the World Darts Championship. This recent launch marks the developer’s debut in the realm of sports-based online casino products, which proves its flexibility and the widening of its portfolio.

The slot is licenced by the PDC and features many popular darts players such as ‘The Iceman’ Gerwyn Price, who has just been crowned world champion, and ‘Mighty Mike’ Michael van Gerwen and ‘Snakebite’ Peter Wright.

Jo Purvis, Blueprint Gaming’s Director of Marketing and Relationships, stated:

Get ready for some quality darts action as we unveil PDC World Darts Championship as the first standout release from the Blueprint portfolio this year. Featuring the sport’s biggest and most recognisable characters, we’re offering an entertaining experience, backed by a proven casino format that will resonate with a large audience.

Furthermore, this new launch is based on a format that has proven to be successful and is well-known amongst the slot gamer community as it is used in many markets internationally. There will also be a Free Games feature included, which is given once the player lands three dartboard scatter symbols, as well as a maximum of 180 pins that is awarded when landing 5 symbols.

Players are also able to choose to play with the famous dart players, including the legends mentioned before, or they can choose the mystery pick option which will randomly assign them a competitor from the sport. This can affect the size of the win depending on the value of the thrower.

Additionally, the title will feature the Sid Waddell Trophy, as awarded to the Darts World Champion, as a major symbol throughout gameplay.

Moreover, the new slot will incorporate the Sid Waddell Trophy (which is awarded to the Darts World Champion) and use it as a recurring symbol in the game.

Barry Hearn OBE, Chairman of the Professional Darts Corporation, also commented on the launch saying:

The global popularity of darts continues to grow, shown recently with the thoroughly enthralling 2020/21 World Darts Championship, which even given the current situation and absence of our iconic Ally Pally crowds, didn’t fail to disappoint in the drama stakes. Partnering with Blueprint Gaming for the development of this unique game is another important step to broaden the appeal of the sport to more people across the globe. They have a fantastic reputation within the gaming industry for developing high quality content and we had no hesitation in partnering with Blueprint for this special game release.

This new deal between both parties is an extension of the PDC’s massive portfolio of deals in the betting industry. Back in June of last year, they joined forces with Low6 and released the PDC Picks darts betting app, which was targeted towards younger audiences. After this, in September, came a renewal of its sponsorship deal with Boyle Sports, which meant that the bookmaker based in Ireland sponsored the Grand Slam of Darts tournament in November 2020, which took place at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.
