Brazil’s SPA shares 2025-26 regulatory agenda
Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) shared its updated regulatory agenda for 2025-26, bringing responsible gambling practices to the frontline.
Since the debut of the regulated iGaming market on January 1, Brazil has been strictly monitoring the gambling market. Recently, Brazil has published its game plan through Normative Ordinance No. 817 with a self-exclusion platform, giving players the ability to step away from gambling if needed.
Moreover, Brazil plans many improvements: better support for players and families affected by gambling harm, clearer rules for betting operator advertising, and a distinctive seal to help players spot licensed, legit platforms.
By the end of 2025, they also hope to align federal and state laws with a new national betting system.
Looking ahead to 2026, the focus shifts to fine-tuning licensing and inspection procedures, fixing certification delays, and holding operators accountable if they break the rules.
