Brazil’s warning promotes betting license applications

The Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) reported about four companies that are allowed to operate in Brazil till the transition period.
Brazil set a deadline for companies to apply for federal betting licenses in Brazil till 11:59 PM on September 30, simply till October 1. This followed the introduction of Normative Ordinance No. 1,475, which announced that only currently operating companies will be able to keep their presence in Brazil. However, this was not the only criterion. Operators must have submitted applications requiring allowance to operate till the end of the year.
On October 1, the SPA released an initial list of approved operators, which included 89 companies. However, the list had errors. Now, the SPA has released four more names who will be allowed to operate till the transition period.
The four companies are:
- F12 do Brasil Jogos Eletrônicos
- Lucky Gaming Ltda
- Grove Eagle Gestão de Bens Ltda
- B3T4 International Group Ltda
Among the notable absences from the approved list are Esportes da Sorte and VaideBet, both reportedly linked to illegal betting and money laundering activities in Brazil. Esportes da Sorte is facing potential restrictions from Brazil’s national telecoms agency, Anatel, allowing players only ten days to withdraw their funds.
Meanwhile, Caixa Loterias, a state-operated federal lottery, applied for its license but has yet to start operations. The SPA has also updated its register of state-authorized licensees, now including 18 approved operators, ensuring compliance across the board.
