Century Casinos finalizes Nugget Casino Resort purchase
Century Casinos has recently completed its purchase of Nugget Casino Resort’s operations.
The finalized purchase follows the company’s previous 50% acquisition of the Nugget Resort’s land about a year ago. After this latest 100 million dollar deal, the organization that owns the land, Smooth Bourbon, will become one of Century Casinos’ subsidiaries.
Century Casinos’ Co-CEOs, Peter Hoetzinger and Erwin Haitzmann, stated:
“We are thrilled to finalize Nugget Resort’s purchase. This acquisition is an excellent opportunity for us to expand in the gambling market of Nevada with an excellent established brand. We have quite an extensive set of upgrades planned for our new property near Reno, which will include an updated look and signage for the building, as well as an overhauled venue for the casino side of the resort.”
This acquisition will expand Century Casinos’ operations into the state of Nevada, growing the company’s presence in its home market of the US. The Nugget Resort is situated in Sparks, Nevada, which is located east of the state’s third most populous city, Reno. It features two highrise hotels with a dedicated gambling floor and a convention hall spanning over 10 thousand square meters.
Additionally, this announcement takes Century Casinos’ total portfolio of gambling and hospitality brands up to 18. This includes numerous establishments all around the world that account for a combined almost 7000 retail gambling terminals.
