DraftKings announces 101 employee cut off in New Jersey

An American gambling company, DraftKings, offering sportsbooks and daily fantasy sports services, announced the cut off news of 101 employees in New Jersey due to the closure of its live studio in Atlantic City.
While the driving force behind the off is the studio closure, it is still not known whether this decision will harm the responsible gaming monitoring team, which consists of 60 members. However, DraftKings reaffirms its commitment to the initiative.
Lori Kalani, DraftKings chief responsible gaming officer, commented:
“Online gaming is for fun and entertainment. We are committed at DraftKings to making sure players play responsibly.”
The Atlantic City studio, launched in 2019 at the Hard Rock Casino in partnership with Evolution, has been an important segment of DraftKings’ iGaming services, operating around the clock with exclusive branded tables for online players. Initially, the studio featured six exclusive blackjack tables, distinguishing it from competitors.
However, despite the success in the state, DraftKings decided to take the necessary step of cut off and outsource its live dealer offerings. The company remains committed to supporting affected employees during this transition by providing adequate protections and opportunities for them to move forward.
DraftKings Spokesperson stated:
“As we finalize our GNOG integration, effective January 31, 2025, DraftKings will transition its in-house Live Dealer operations to third-party studios in Atlantic City. We are supporting impacted employees to offer a smooth transition for as many as possible. Our Live Dealer offerings will remain uninterrupted.”
With this decision, DraftKings shows its commitment to promoting safer gambling.
