DraftKings CEO predicts new changes for iGaming in 2025
The CEO of the American gambling company, DraftKings, which offers sportsbooks and daily fantasy sports services, shared his predictions for 2025 during the Craig-Hallum Online Gaming Conference.
During the online conference, the CEO and co-founder of DraftKings, Jason Robins, talked about different topics referring to the iGaming sector. According to him, 2025 will be a challenging year for the industry as it will bring new regulations and changes. However, this is not as negative as it may seem. New regulations will advance the iGaming market.
Jason Robins compared DraftKings’ UK and USA performances:
“Initially, we were behind when it came to product and technology. But after acquiring SB Tech and working on it over the years, we have become a premier place in the market when it comes to our product and technology capabilities. And I think over time it will become more of an advantage because the things we were initially behind on, we were able to rapidly close the gap, and in some cases, get out ahead of the vast majority of our competitors.”
Competition with DraftKings
The iGaming industry keeps advancing with more and more new entries to new locations. This fuels the competition between operators.
Robins commented:
“I kinda like it. I think it’s important to always have new, aggressive competition in the market. It keeps the team and keeps everybody focused on winning with the customer, and it keeps that edge. We’ve always been a company (for better or worse) that has done better when we feel some sort of pressure.”
The first country that will enter 2025 with new regulations will be Brazil.
