Equatorial Guinea officially enters global iGaming market

Equatorial Guinea enters the online gambling market with an Online Gaming Master License to Mascott Capital Partners, a gaming management and licensing firm in Cyprus.

This is the first time Equatorial Guinea has launched a regulatory framework for online gambling, including online casinos, betting, and gaming. The country’s government shared in an official announcement that this move is an important moment for the nation’s economic diversification and digital development strategy.

The license was granted by Antonio-Pedro Oliveira Burupu, Minister of Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure, under the authority of Law 2/1995 and the tax and regulatory reforms laid out in Law 10/2017.

Burupu commented:

“The launch of online gaming, online betting, and online casinos in Equatorial Guinea is one of the most significant measures taken by gaming regulators in the country’s history and Mascott Capital Partners’ digital platform will assist in submitting online gaming licence applications.”

The legislation aims to boost taxation, define operational protocols, and secure revenue contributions toward public services. The government highlighted that the initiative is designed to generate new income while maintaining international best practices and consumer protections.

Mascott Capital Partners will serve as the country’s main regulatory body and will provide the digital platform that simplifies the application process, compliance monitoring, and licensing for international gaming companies. All future operators must work through Mascott to enter Equatorial Guinea’s online gambling market.
