FanDuel and Mohegan to launch a sportsbook in Connecticut today
Today, September 30th, an official bow-cutting ceremony is going to be held in the Mohegan Sun Casino’s Bow & Arrow Sports Bar at 09:30AM EST, in regards to the opening of the group’s land-based sportsbook along with partner gambling company – FanDuel.
The newly opened sports bar at Bow & Arrow is going to have “one of the largest TV walls in the Northeast”, as described by the casino company, along with 50 self-service kiosks, and an online sportsbook to launch following suite, later this season.
Via a partnership between Mohegan and FanDuel earlier this summer, the new sportsbook bar is going to be powered by the latter.
The launch of the land-based sportsbook will serve as an excellent tool for promoting tourism in the state of Connecticut, as well as generating the local revenue.
Simultaneously to this opening, another American Tribal operator – Foxwoods Casino, owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, is also planning to kick-start a retail sportsbook around the same time, in collaboration with DraftKings.
