France to promote responsible gambling
Through a newly signed agreement, the national gaming regulator, Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ), and the National Union of Family Associations (UNAF) will promote responsible gambling in France.
This partnership comes at a critical time for the French gambling sector, which is experiencing growth but also facing challenges like competition and market saturation. The partnership aims to help and protect vulnerable groups with the main goal of developing resources that raise awareness about the dangers of problem gambling, especially among youngsters.
Aligned with ANJ’s strategic focus for 2024-2026, the partnership will target key areas like conducting studies, publishing awareness materials, and creating tools for families and professionals who work with groups affected by gambling. This will include nearly 6,000 family associations across France. Training programs will also be developed for professionals and volunteers to ensure they are well-equipped to support users and prevent underage gambling. Through its Budget Advice Points, UNAF provides financial education and budget management support, which play a crucial role in preventing gambling-related issues.
By focussing on public awareness, training, and prevention, this initiative will help protect consumers and reinforce France’s commitment to responsible gambling practices.
