GeoComply donates $200,000 to help with PlayPause rollout

GeoComply, the compliance technology supplier has handed a donation of $200,000 (about £147,000) to the developers of the PlayPause tool, ConsciousGaming, in order to help out with its rollout.

The purpose of the PlayPause tool is to help with the improvement of existing responsible gaming and self-exclusion programmes. It aims to conquer some of the barricades that may occur in the US due to the many different requirements depending on each state.

It will help to streamline some of the administration that could possibly come with keeping up self-exclusion databases. Having such a database that crosses state borders also gives players the chance to stay safe even when they move from one state where they might have self-excluded into another.

Popular operators including Entain and BetMGM have agreed, as of now, to integrate it into their responsible gaming protections. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has also stated that they will be the first state regulator to utilise it.

Anna Sainsbury, chair and co-founder of GeoComply, said: “We have been very fortunate at GeoComply to have a front seat to the growth of the iGaming industry across the United States over the past decade. We recognize with this growth comes challenges and GeoComply is proud to commit funding to Conscious Gaming to help the industry fulfill its responsibilities and obligations to responsible gaming and a safe environment for players.”
