Gaming Innovation Group has officially acquired a vendor registration in the state of Virginia from the Virginia Lottery for its flagship site World Sports Network (WSN.com).

The site’s main objective is to provide full coverage of sports news and game statistics, which helps all sports fans keep tabs on the most recent news and changes happening in their favourite sports. Ever since the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 was announced as being unconstitutional in 2018 by the United States Supreme Court, the site massively increased and expanded its operations.

WSN’s acquisition of this newest licence in Virginia means that it is now officially licenced in 11 different states across the USA, and sports betting is completely legal and regulated in all of them. This is no doubt an exciting event for players in Virginia, as a large number of sports betting operators have been provided with local licences since the state legalised sports betting back in 2020.

Jonas Warrer, GiG Media managing director, commented on the acquisition and stated:

“We are excited to add Virginia to the growing list of states where we can offer legal sports betting content. WSN continues to gain momentum throughout North America and the Virginia licence approval brings us one step closer to our ambition of turning the site into the primary go-to site for all US sports bettors.”
