Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online’s developer, Rockstar, has blocked access to its in-game gambling in the Diamond Casino feature for Australian players.
In late July 2026, local players started reporting that they were unable to access GTA’s gambling minigames that included slots, blackjack, poker, roulette, Insider Track horse racing, and the free-to-spin lucky wheel. Currently, users are faced with a pop-up message stating “This feature is not available to you” when trying to enter any of the gambling simulation games.
Previously, the minigames were available in Australia since the launch of Diamond Casino back in 2019, and even after the introduction of a mandatory classification for gambling-like content in video games in 2024. Since the addition of the new guidelines, GTA has been classified as R18+.
The guidelines stated:
“Video games containing simulated gambling, such as casino games, will be legally restricted to adults with a minimum classification of R 18+ (Restricted – legally restricted to adults aged 18 years or older) at a minimum.”
Rockstar Games has not yet responded to the questions about why the minigames were disabled in Australia; however, locals speculate that the reason could be that the game allows players to purchase in-game cash and use it in the simulated casino games, although the feature doesn’t allow players to redeem winnings for real money.
With the latest change, Australia entered the list of countries where the Diamond Casino is restricted, including Greece, China, Portugal, and Cyprus.
