Hard Rock donates $1M to hurricane relief efforts
On October 14, Hard Rock, together with its owner, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, announced a $1 million donation to Hurricane Milton and Helene relief efforts.
Hurricane Helene was a powerful Category 4 hurricane that made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend on September 26. It took 250 lives, making it the deadliest hurricane in the United States. The estimated losses are $30 billion, stretching from Mexico through the Southeastern U.S.
Communities are left in dire need of support and recovery efforts, and Hard Rock’s donation comes just in time. Hard Rock is a global leader in entertainment, gaming, and hospitality, with its hotels, cafes, casinos, and shops operating in 74 countries.
Marcellus Osceola Jr., chair of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, said:
“The Seminole Tribe of Florida has always been committed to helping our neighbors in times of crisis. We’d like to thank Governor Ron DeSantis for his partnership in uplifting our communities at this critical time. With the help of our dedicated teams across Florida, we can make a meaningful impact for those in need after Hurricanes Helene and Milton.”
Chair of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming, Jim Allen, added:
“Opening our doors to displaced families in Tampa and providing financial support is just the beginning of our ongoing commitment to the recovery efforts.”
The $1 million donation will support World Central Kitchen’s and the Red Cross’s response from Florida to the Carolinas.
