Hard Rock Sacramento plans $4B expansion

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain is getting ready for a major transformation, with plans for a $2 to $4 billion expansion that could redefine entertainment in the region.
Spanning already 40 acres, the casino has acquired an additional 350 acres of mostly untouched land stretching toward the Toyota Amphitheatre. This space is set to become a vibrant, multi-use destination complete with a festival entertainment district, rodeo grounds, sports and resort facilities, retail shops, restaurants, scenic walkways, and even the possibility of a stadium and fairgrounds.
Hard Rock Sacramento President Mark Birtha commented on the news:
“We’re not just talking about growing a casino. This is a long-term master plan that will transform the entire region.”
Since 2019, the casino has already contributed $2.5 billion to the local economy. The new development is on non-tribal land, which means Yuba County itself will directly benefit from sales and property taxes.
If all goes as planned, construction could start as soon as 2026. Full buildout might take from five to ten years, with the clear vision to have not just a casino but something iconic.
