Hollywood Casino in Perryville, Maryland, owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Penn National Gaming, has obtained a sports betting permit.

The Penn National-owned Hollywood Casino in Perryville, Maryland, is now formally qualified to deliver sports betting services at the casino property at 1201 Chesapeake Overlook Pkwy, Perryville, MD 21903, United States.

The license to be qualified to offer sports betting was granted by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission, making Hollywood Casino Perryville one of the 17 casino properties in the state who own such a permit currently.

The applications for the permit are now in the process of being reviewed by the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission along a couple of other casinos: MGM National Harbor and Horseshoe, Live!

According to John Martin – director at the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission, the applications will be approved by the end of this season, paving the way for a number of casinos to start legally offering sports betting in Maryland.

The cost of the 5-year sports betting license is $1 million.

All of the applications and processes are being expedited so that the games can begin soon. However SWARC does not have its next meeting scheduled after canceling an Oct. 14 meeting.
