Interview with Michael Oziransky – CPO at Vegangster

In a recent interview with AffPapa, Michael Oziransky, the CPO at Vegangster, shared thoughts and insights on smooth platform migration strategies, rising sweepstakes trends, and the role of automation and AI in the future of iGaming.

Yeva: You’ve been in the iGaming and software development space for over a decade. How have these two worlds shaped your approach to leading product strategy at Vegangster?

Those two worlds are completely interconnected for me. In any market, a strong product is one of the biggest drivers of success. That’s why we put a huge focus on keeping both our software development and product methodologies at the highest possible standard. We move fast, test constantly, learn from it, and improve. That cycle is at the core of how we build.

Yeva: Can you walk us through how you define the long-term product vision at Vegangster? What are the key elements you focus on?

We usually work in parallel on two main fronts: improving what already exists and pushing innovation. For existing functionality, we look at two audiences — operators and players. For operators, the priority is efficiency: features that make daily workflows smoother. For players, it’s all about elevating their overall experience.

On the innovation side, we challenge existing norms in the market. A good example is content discovery, which led us to create our scroll-and-play feature.

Yeva: Many operators struggle with platform migration. What would your “ultimate checklist” be for a smooth transition?

We’ve done a lot of migrations, and honestly, they don’t have to be a stressful moment for operators. My checklist would be:

  • Start building anticipation — communicate early with your players. They’re moving to something better.
  • Prepare as much migration data as possible, and work closely with the platform team so they can process everything. On our side, we support full data migration.
  • Set up the new site well in advance and invest plenty of time in testing.
  • If possible, let a group of trusted players try the new platform before launch.
  • Announce the exact migration time and expected downtime.
  • Make sure onboarding flows are ready — things like welcome messages, guided tours, or any feature that greets players right after they migrate.

Yeva: Would you say your experience in Maxbet Entertainment Group had an influence on your current leadership and decision-making style? If so, how?

Definitely. That role had a strong operational focus on the B2C side, and it gave me a much deeper understanding of how operators actually work day-to-day. Running an iGaming operation is incredibly complex, and having lived that reality helps me make the right decisions when shaping our product roadmap today.

Yeva: We’re seeing a big rise in sweepstakes and social casino models. Where do you see this segment heading over the next few years, and what does it translate to in the broader sense?

Operators are constantly looking for new ways to engage players. Sweepstakes tapped into a very specific market need, and we’re excited to support it on our platform as well. What I’m really curious to see is whether this model will grow beyond the US and find traction in other markets too.

Yeva: Is there an area of iGaming that feels underexplored to you? Anything new in technology, or growing markets you believe have untapped potential?

From a technology perspective, automation and AI-driven workflows are still very underexplored in iGaming. We’ve been rethinking some processes from the ground up — customer support automation is a good example. I expect to see a lot more innovation in this space over the next few years.

Yeva: Lastly, what’s next for Vegangster? What’s the vision that keeps you motivated?

Our focus for the near future is giving operators total flexibility across their operations — site management, in-house tools, integrations, and data. And for players, we want to deliver both improved and completely new ways to explore iGaming experiences.

We have a lot of exciting things lined up for next year, so stay tuned!
