AffPapa recently interviewed Uroš Nikolić, the Senior Sales Manager at Zillion Games, who spoke on the biggest challenges in sales, how to stay ahead, and more.

Yeva: Uroš, you’ve been in sales for a while. What originally drew you to the iGaming industry, and what keeps you passionate about it?

I started in field sales at a fintech SaaS startup and later became a consultant for digital risk assessment solutions, working across various industries. Although I loved video games as a child, iGaming wasn’t initially on my career radar. That changed when I came across an online games provider’s job ad – and I applied.

Now, after several years in iGaming, what keeps me here is the industry’s constant evolution, creative and engaging content, true innovation, and the excitement of building strong partnerships in this fast-paced market.

Yeva: Sales is both an art and a science. As a Senior Sales Manager, what’s your secret formula at Zillion Games? Do you focus more on intuition or data?

Successful sales come from balancing data-driven insights with strong relationship-building. Although knowing how to read and interpret the stats is important, it is really not only about numbers. There is still something about the people you are working with and the clients’ loyalty that has been vested in you. So, in short, I rely on data to identify trends and opportunities but trust intuition and experience when it comes to closing deals and understanding clients’ needs.

Yeva: Sales is a continuously advancing field. What’s the biggest challenge in sales today, and how do you turn that challenge into an opportunity?

At Zillion, we are solely focused on online slots, and standing out in this highly competitive market is our biggest challenge. We turn it into an opportunity by developing unique mechanics, deeply understanding player needs, and delivering high-quality products.

Our portfolio is expanding, but never at the expense of quality. As a Senior Sales Manager, I always have unique advantages to offer casino operators, ensuring they get the best solutions tailored to their needs. Our mission is to be a long-term partner – always available, responsive, and reliable – while continuously innovating to keep players engaged.

Yeva: Zillion has partnered with over 900 casinos worldwide – a stunning achievement in such a competitive industry. What are the top three factors that make casinos choose you? How do you maintain strong, long-term relationships with them?

Casinos choose Zillion for our innovative content, reliability, and strong player engagement. We maintain relationships by prioritizing transparency, adapting to clients’ needs, and consistently delivering value. This comprises the foundation for close to 1000 casinos and nearly 1 million monthly players playing our games all over the globe. And our whole team is very proud of these milestones reached.

Yeva: Zillion is expanding to global markets. Are there any specific regions you’re particularly focusing on?

We are actively expanding in regulated markets across Europe and CIS. Another geo that comes into our focus is the great continent of Africa, where demand for fresh, engaging content is growing. Apart from these regions where we have recently secured strategic partnerships, we keep LATAM and SE Asia in the loop, too.

Yeva: The iGaming industry is constantly transforming. How do you and your team at Zillion Games stay ahead of these changes, ensuring that the company remains both relevant and effective? 

We stay ahead by closely monitoring market trends, listening to players’ and operators’/aggregators’ feedback, and continuously innovating our game portfolio. Flexibility and adaptability are key to remaining competitive. We are currently offering more than 50 game titles of different mechanics and visualization. Our dev team and designers are working hard to deliver more customized solutions catering to local players across markets.

Yeva: What will we see from Zillion in the near future? Is there anything exciting we should wait for?

Expect more groundbreaking game releases, strategic market expansions, and innovative features designed to boost player engagement. By diving even deeper into player behavior patterns, we’re introducing even more exciting mechanics to enhance the gaming experience. In the near future, we plan to release at least 10 new games and strengthen our presence at major industry events. Our marketing team ensures timely communication with clients, players, and stakeholders through regular announcements and press releases.

Yeva: And finally, Uroš, if you had to describe your job at Zillion in just three words, what would they be and why?

Dynamic, strategic, rewarding. Dynamic because no two days are the same, strategic because success requires a thoughtful approach, and rewarding because building lasting partnerships drives real impact.
