Kirsty Caldwell named interim chair of UKGC Industry Forum
The UK Gambling Commission has announced that Kirsty Caldwell will take on the interim chair position for the Industry Forum.
The goal of the forum is to improve collaboration between the regulator and licensed operators, and it was established in 2023.
Caldwell brings experience as a compliance executive to her temporary role, as she has been with the forum since March 2024. Before that, she spent over eight years in the compliance department at William Hill and served as head of compliance for the operator’s online division.
In 2019, she founded BetSmart Consulting and has continued her own industry-focused compliance consulting business.
Caldwell commented:
“I am delighted to be taking on this role. I remain fully committed to building a healthy, respected gambling sector, and cooperation and communication between the regulator and industry are key to achieving this. We may not get it right every time, but the important thing is we learn from our mistakes, we keep talking, and we keep moving forward.”
Meanwhile, the UKGC is in search of a permanent replacement for Nick Rust, the chair of the body and ex-CEO of the British Horseracing Association, who took the role in November 2023 and stepped down after serving a two-year term.
