KSA warns operator for providing unlicensed offering

An unnamed operator has recently been warned by the Kansspelautoriteit for providing unauthorized offerings.

The Kansspelautoriteit stated that the company in question was offering a betting opportunity while not having the appropriate license type. The regulator mentioned that the offering in question was wagering on trotting, which requires a special license that is separate from one issued for other high-risk games.

The Kansspelautoriteit mentioned that upon contacting the violating operator, the company ceased offering the unauthorized opportunities immediately. The regulator added that it contacted the firm following an investigation that originated at the start of last month when the authority was informed about the unauthorized offerings.

The KSA stated that the violating firm stopped offering betting on trotting less than 40 minutes after receiving the regulator’s order. The Kansspelautoriteit added that its investigation revealed that no users had placed bets on the opportunity and that the operator implemented measures to prevent the mistake from happening again. This led the authority to only issue a warning to the unnamed company.

This announcement follows less than a week after the Kansspelautoriteit warned operator Holland Casino for violations of its database. Check out our coverage of the KSA’s previous enforcement action to learn more.
