Lionel Messi promotes Kalshi in new Instagram post
Kalshi’s prediction market platform has received one of its biggest marketing boosts following Lionel Messi’s Instagram post as part of a paid campaign, with Argentina’s latest World Cup win further increasing the operator’s visibility.
On June 14, Messi made a post on his Instagram account with teammates Nicolas Otamendi and Rodrigo de Paul to promote Kalshi in a paid sponsorship. The campaign also showed an 8.9% probability of Argentina becoming the World Cup 2026 champion, according to Kalshi predictions.
Under the sponsorship deal, Messi also promoted Kalshi’s giveaway, which offers players a chance to win signed Argentina T-shirts.
During Argentina’s national team’s opening game against Algeria at the World Cup, Messi scored 3 goals, leading to a win, after which the country’s 8.9% implied probability of winning the tournament increased to 10.5%. As of June 15, $722,000 was traded on Argentina’s victory.
The marketing measures come after Kalshi launched an Asociación del Fútbol Argentino sponsorship, becoming the official partner of Argentina’s national football team.
While the operator’s collaboration with the AFA is set for the World Cup period, Kalshi has also launched partnerships with major sports figures like football manager José Mourinho, as well as deals with athletes like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Connor McDavid, and Bryson DeChambeau.
