In its Q2 2026 earnings call, MGM Resorts announced that it saw a slight 1% year-on-year increase in quarterly revenue, reaching $4.5 billion, with the company in talks of a potential takeover by People Incorporated.

Consolidated adjusted EBITDA saw a decline to $610 million, compared to 2025’s $648 million; however, net income jumped from $49 million to $292 million. The company also reported record performance for the Las Vegas Strip and strong growth in the digital business.

Las Vegas Strip Resorts generated $2.2 billion in revenue, which was relatively flat compared to 2025’s $2.1 billion, while adjusted EBITDA for the segment increased by 3% to $735 million. Results from regional operations dropped by 4% to $924 million, and adjusted EBITDA was $280 million, a 9% decline.

MGM Digital generated an additional $196 million in Q2 revenue, but segment-adjusted EBITDA reported a $31 million loss. Casino revenue reached $2.38 billion, 2% higher than in the previous year.

Bill Hornbuckle, president and CEO of MGM Resorts International, said:

“MGM Resorts once again demonstrated the strength of our diversified portfolio with record second quarter consolidated revenue driven by a second consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth for Las Vegas Strip Resorts. Alongside this momentum in our existing operations, we continue to build for the future with investment in the largest integrated resort in the world, MGM Osaka, on track for 2030 opening, as well as returns on our digital businesses.”

Addressing the discussions for Barry Diller’s People Incorporated to acquire MGM Resorts for $18 billion, Hornbuckle shared that the company had created a dedicated committee to assess the proposal.
