Michigan hits $253.7M GGR in October
Michigan, a state in the Great Lakes region of the Upper Midwest region of the United States, recorded a significant growth of $253.7 million in October’s gross gaming revenues.
This is an increase of 23.6% when compared to October 2023’s results of $205.3 million. However, this is still a decline if compared to September 2024’s results. The biggest contributor to this number is iGaming, with $220.7 million in revenues. This surpasses the previous highest number of $215.5 million set in March. FanDuel and MotorCity Casino surpass BetMGM and MGM Grand Detroit as top performers, reporting $56.17 million in gross receipts.
Sports betting in Michigan
Sports betting revenues have a mixed picture. GGR dropped 26.7% year-over-year to $33.0 million, driven by NFL results. However, player spending increased to $560.4 million, 5.1% more when compared to last year and 11.7% above September. The market leaders, FanDuel and DraftKings, generated $17.0 million and $6.5 million, respectively.
Retail casinos
Retail casinos in Detroit, the largest city in Michigan, don’t remain behind with their revenues. Monthly aggregate revenue climbed 24.3% year-over-year to $102.9 million. MGM maintained a dominant market share of 48% but faced losses in sports betting alongside MotorCity.
