Michigan iGaming revenue hits record in March

iGaming revenue for March hit a record $293.5 million in Michigan, marking a 9.3% increase from February and a 6.7% increase from March 2024.
These numbers show iGaming dominance in the market, raking in $260.5 million. That’s a new record, beating January’s previous high and increasing by 20.9% above last year’s results. After accounting for promotions, adjusted gross receipts reached $246.1 million, a 26.5% boost from 2024.
Leading the pack, BetMGM and MGM Grand Detroit clocked $69 million in iGaming revenue. FanDuel with MotorCity Casino followed closely behind, while DraftKings and Bay Mills Indian Community rounded out the top three. iGaming alone contributed more than $50 million in state taxes and $13.1 million to Detroit.
Sports betting records declines in Michigan
While iGaming gains dominance with excellent numbers, sports betting records a revenue decline to $33 million. When compared to March 2024, the decline is more than 21%. After promotions, adjusted receipts were sliced nearly in half to $14.6 million. Players wagered $475.1 million, a 4.5% dip year-on-year.
FanDuel and MotorCity still led the sports betting race, followed by DraftKings and BetMGM. Combined, these operators contributed nearly $900k in taxes to the state.
Land-based casinos
In the casino segment, the casino floor, Detroit’s brick-and-mortar venues saw a 5.3% revenue drop year-over-year, despite an uptick from February. Still, MGM maintained its lead with a 46% market share.
