Banbury confirmed the move in a LinkedIn post, saying he started the role on October 1, 2026, following a six-month break from work. His most recent position at Kindred was chief commercial and marketing officer, and before that he held roles as UK general manager, head of UK strategy and finance operations, and head of strategic planning and intelligence. Before joining Kindred in September 2010, he worked as a tax advisor at Ernst & Young and spent time in recruitment at Reed.
Banbury wrote:
“Last Thursday I started a new role as Managing Director of Sky Betting & Gaming at Flutter Entertainment. I’m excited and proud to be here and can’t wait to get stuck in. It’s a tough moment for UK gambling, but SBG has great brands, the backing of Flutter, and a brilliant team that really understands its customers. This new start closes my Kindred and FDJ chapter.”
Banbury also commented on leaving Kindred, where he started as an analyst and left as part of its executive team, thanking the team there for their trust and support over the years.
