New Hard Rock casino to be opened in Virginia

Hard Rock will be expanding its footprint by opening a new casino in Virginia on November 14.
Being located at 500 Gate City Highway, right next to the former Bristol Mall, this $515 million resort will replace a temporary casino that has been operating in the old Belk department store since July 2022.
The new resort will have 303 hotel rooms together with seven restaurants and bars, including the popular Council Oak Steaks & Seafood and Hard Rock Live, a spacious 23,000-square-foot concert hall that can welcome 2,000 guests for live shows and special events. Guests will also find a Rock Shop filled with rock ‘n’ roll souvenirs to commemorate their visit.
Jon Lucas, Hard Rock’s chief operating officer, commented:
“Hard Rock’s rich history fits perfectly with Bristol’s distinction as the ‘Birthplace of Country Music.’ With this property, Bristol — and the entire region — will have a new major entertainment destination.”
For gaming fans, the casino will have nearly 1,500 slot machines, more than 50 live dealer table games, and a Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook.
Hard Rock is committed to expanding within the USA, and Virginia’s debut follows Illinois’ debut in August. Online gaming and sports betting sectors did not stay behind. Recently, Hard Rock announced that it is open to a partnership with industry leaders DraftKings and Fanduel in Florida, where it has a monopoly with its license of 30 years.
