North Carolina supports responsible gambling initiative

The Department of Health and Human Services Problem Gambling from the State of North Carolina in conjunction with Birches Health and The Gambling Research and Policy Initiative at East Carolina University carried out a detailed campaign about promoting responsible gambling and address the negative impacts of gambling.
The goal of the project is to offer efficient therapeutic interventions which are applicable to individuals suffering from gambling disorder by utilizing existing infrastructure and material.
In an attempt to broaden the services for its residents who struggle with gambling, North Carolina’s intensification campaign against gambling-related issues is underway. Through virtual therapy sessions that satisfy different needs, Birches Health will be reaching those who have nowhere else to turn.
Elliott Rapaport said:
“We believe this initiative will pave the way for best-in-class gambling disorder treatment and guide clinical outcomes for programs nationwide, ultimately leading to a reduction in gambling-related harms.”
Amanda Winters, the administrator of the North Carolina Department of Human Services Problem Gambling said:
“We are thrilled to support our partners at GRPI and Birches Health in launching this first-of-its-kind problem gambling metrics-based telehealth treatment pilot program.”
North Carolina is not the only state that is committed to protecting the people who live there when it comes to safe betting activities. Just recently, in Vermont, a website was created leveraging on the same idea about responsible gaming courtesy of the State’s mental health authority.
On the other hand, Ohio state authorities went ahead of time with their proactive measures thus availing Gamban, a third-party app for self-exclusion which has significantly helped promote/support healthy behaviors among gamblers.
