Ontario’s BetMGM casino jackpot hits record $1.6M
BetMGM, the popular online casino platform created by MGM Resorts and Entain, hit a major milestone in Ontario with the highest-ever jackpot of CA$1.6 million.
This massive jackpot comes from a special pool of 19 exclusive slot games, including popular titles like Bison Fury, MGM Grand Millions, and Melon Madness. The pot grows every time someone spins without winning the big one.
Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer at BetMGM, commented:
“This represents a significant milestone for BetMGM Casino in Ontario. We are dedicated to offering players the best iGaming experience, which includes a wide variety of games, jackpots, and readily available responsible gambling tools.”
In only 2024, BetMGM paid out CA$14 million in progressive jackpots to Ontario players. And it’s not just a Canadian success story. The US also saw success with a player from New Jersey scoring a US$6.5 million jackpot, the largest jackpot in iGaming history.
Beyond the games, BetMGM is also committed to responsible gambling. Tools like GameSense, developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, are built into the platform to help players stay in control.
However, next to jackpot success, BetMGM faced a fine of CA$110,000 by Ontario’s gaming regulator for not following iGaming rules.
