Penn transitions Barstool Casino to in-house platform

Penn Entertainment has recently finalized the transition of its Barstool Sportsbook and Casino brand to an in-house technology solution.

The new back-end platform powering Barstool Sportsbook and Casino has been built to be easily expandable to allow for rapid growth across the operator’s home market of the United States. It has also been designed with the North American market in mind, which will help it deliver highly-sought after experiences to the casino’s local audience.

This transition included several upgrades to the operator’s offerings, such as quicker transactions, enhanced withdrawal availability, improved personalization, and an expanded list of betting and gambling options. Moreover, this upgrade also featured an expanded integration with Penn Entertainment’s theScore media application, which will allow bettors to create and keep track of their wagers in the app.

This latest migration has allowed the operator to finalize its long-term strategy of reaching operational independence, through which it has now achieved leading levels of vertical integration across all of its licensed jurisdictions in the United States. Previous milestones in Penn Entertainment’s strategy included the launch of its in-house game development studio a couple of years ago and the acquisition of the media firm Score Media.
