PGCB reports $479m revenue in May

The PGCB has recently published its latest market performance report, indicating a total revenue of 479 million dollars for the state of Pennsylvania.

The 479 million dollar revenue is an increase of 7% from last year’s 447 million dollars and a smaller increase of less than 1% from the month of April, although it is still lower than the state’s record of more than 500 million dollars recorded in March.

Breaking down by niche, the PGCB reported that land-based slot games maintained their top spot in terms of revenue, generating 210 million dollars, which is a 2.5% increase from last year. Online slot titles followed next, making more than 100 million dollars and also representing the largest year-over-year growth among all of the state’s gambling types at more than 28%.

The PGCB also reported its licensed operators’ revenues, with Penn National’s Hollywood Casino leading the way with a revenue of 74 million dollars. Valley Forge Casino was up next with a revenue of 64 million dollars, which also experienced the second-largest jump in revenue in comparison to last year’s May at 22%, following Hollywood Casino Morgantown’s 28% increase.

Lastly, the regulator also reported the state’s total revenue in taxes, which was recorded at just under 198 million dollars in May. This was up from last year’s 181 million dollars and from April’s 195 million dollars, although it was more than 10 million dollars short of March’s 212 million dollars tax revenue.
