Premier League to stop its front-of-shirt gambling sponsors

Gambling companies will stop being featured at the front of the t-shirts of Premier League ‘s football teams.

In their recent report Sky News wrote that the Premier League confirmed that they won’t have gambling brands sponsoring the front of the t-shirts of football clubs.

This is not the first time this topic is being discussed. Back in May the UK government suggested an offer asking the Premier League to prevent gambling firms from being featured on front-of-shirts of English football clubs. However they will allow the brand’s logo to still be showcased on shirts, for example on the sleeves of t-shirts.

The Premier League said that a vacuum like that will negatively affect the financial state of different football teams, specifically if the law is applied on English teams. So Digital, Culture, Media department’s Chris Philp is believed to take the Premier League’s offer into consideration.

Various PL football teams from Newcastle United to West Ham and Brentford are partners with gambling companies like Fun88, Betway and Hollywood Bets. It wasn’t long ago that Dafabet and Bournemouth finalized their sponsorship arrangemen

The Premier League refuses to talk about their discussions with both the DCMS and ministerial officials at the moment.
