Star Entertainment to appoint Hamish Macdonald as Secretary
Star Entertainment has recently proposed to appoint Hamish Macdonald as the Company Secretary.
The proposed appointee has a wealth of experience in the corporate governance and regulatory fields at a variety of major firms in Australia and neighboring New Zealand, with one of his most recent positions being the Secretary and General Counsel at the NZ Stock Exchange.
While the company seeks to attain all of the required approvals to officially assign Macdonald his new role, Jennie Yuen, the firm’s current Secretary, will remain in her position and continue managing the operator’s communications with the ASX.
Furthermore, the company mentioned in its announcement that Nawal Silfani, who joined the firm as its Secretary about a year ago in September of 2022, will be assigned a set of different responsibilities at the gambling firm in a new governance position.
This announcement follows almost a month after Star Entertainment published its latest financial report covering the 2023 Australian fiscal year, which showcased a sizable loss of over 2 billion dollars for the company in the period.
