Super Group plans to exit US iGaming market

Super Group, the company behind Betway and Spin, has revealed plans to pull out of the US online gambling market.

Super Group is raising its full-year outlook, with revenue now expected to hit over $2B (up from $1.93B), and adjusted EBITDA raised to $480M+ from the earlier $457M. The decision follows a record-breaking second quarter but comes down to shifting regulations that have changed the game for long-term profits.

Super Group’s Chief executive Neal Menashe commented:

“This is a difficult decision, particularly because our US team has worked hard and made progress over recent quarters. Nonetheless, recent regulatory developments combined with ongoing assessment of capital allocation requirements have led us to believe that our stringent hurdle for return on capital will likely not be met in this market any time soon.

We therefore intend to focus capital and resources on markets where we see the greatest opportunity for scalable, sustainable, profitable super growth, with a disciplined emphasis on operational efficiency.”

Super Group is calling Q2 its strongest quarter ever, even as it gears up to exit the U.S. market. The results were driven by solid sports outcomes, smarter pricing, better risk management, and strong customer engagement across casino and sports betting.

Menashe added:

“We are very pleased with our performance in the second quarter, reflecting continued momentum and discipline across our core markets and further validating the strength of our operating model and brands. We remain focused on driving profitable and sustainable growth through consistent execution and continue to be super-confident in the long-term growth potential of our business.”

Super Group will also hold an investor day on September 18, 2025, in London to share its long-term plans and strategy after the restructuring.
