The Philadelphia Eagles partners up with Esports Entertainment Group

The Philadelphia Eagles is now the very first NFL club to venture into the E-sports world after announcing their recent partnership with E-sports Entertainment Group (EEG). This new partnership will allow fans to take part in the annual Madden tournaments on behalf of the Eagles.

The terms of the partnership were discussed during a press release. More importantly, it was mentioned that EEG will take advantage of the Philadelphia Eagles players for marketing purposes in order to gain more and more brand affiliation and recognition.

On behalf of the Eagles, Catherine Carlson, the Senior Vice President, noted that the EEG has always been a leader in the world of E-sports and has recently been ahead of the game. She further stated that the organization is very excited and looking forward to working on many different projects through this partnership, such as the launch of the long-awaited Madden tournament series on the E-sports Gaming League platform.

Furthermore, the EEG has recently joined forces with Bally’s, which is formally known as Twin River Worldwide Holdings, which means that the Eagles now own a part of the company that has a contract with the casino brand for E-sports wagering.

That is why the EEG is now plotting the offering of a sports-centric wagering platform under the Bally’s master license. Such a venture is however very much dependent on state legislators and regulators. In New Jersey, the law permits limited E-sports events wagering. If the legislation changes, the Eagles would become partial owners of a sportsbook.

In the end, if legislations change for the better in the future, these connections acquired by the Eagles could end up with major value for the franchise.
