UKGC Executive Director Tim Miller announces departure
The Executive Director of Policy and Research at the UK Gambling Commission, Tim Miller, has announced his departure from the position after 10 years of working with the regulator.
Miller had joined the UKGC back in 2016, supervising the launch of the Gambling Survey for the UK, guiding the Gambling Act review and the white paper, as well as leading multiple high-profile policy measures.
Miller wrote in a statement:
“Today I announced to my colleagues that after a decade at the Gambling Commission, I’ve decided it’s time for my next chapter. The Commission has been the most enjoyable and fulfilling part of my career so far and I’ve been so lucky to work with such brilliant people who care deeply about getting regulation right. But for me, ten years always felt like the right point to take on a new challenge.”
Throughout his career, Miller worked as the Head of Public Affairs at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and as the Head of Policy and Communications for the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman.
The CEO of the UKGC, Sarah Gardner, said:
“Tim has provided outstanding service to the Commission for ten years. I would like to thank Tim for his significant contribution to gambling regulation and wish him every success in the future.”
According to the commission, Miller will continue serving his role until September 2026, after which he is set to take up an international advisory position outside of the gambling industry.
