The UK Gambling Commission has imposed a £609,000 fine on QuinnBet after the operator was found to have breached anti-money laundering and social responsibility regulations.
As announced on August 20, 2026, the UKGC conducted a compliance review of the operator’s gambling license between 2023 and 2025, which identified breaches in the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) rules and Social Responsibility Code Provisions (SRCP). The violations were connected to risk assessments for user protections.
The UKGC shared in a statement:
“The review found failings in QuinnBet’s Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Social Responsibility (SR) controls. In line with our Statement of Principles for Licensing and regulation, QuinnBet will make a payment in lieu of a financial penalty of £609,104.”
According to the commission, QuinnBet allowed one user with around £2,000 in earnings to deposit and lose £9,000 in 4 days, while another player deposited £120,000 and withdrew £111,000 in a 3-month period.
The UKGC’s director of enforcement, John Pierce, commented:
“This case highlights the serious consequences of relying on systems and controls that are unable to identify and respond to indicators of harm and financial crime quickly enough. We expect operators to ensure their safeguards are effective in practice to protect consumers and keep crime out of gambling.”
Additional findings showed how 194 users were able to exceed their deposit limits, while the company delayed submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
