Ukrainian Authorities Order Immediate Removal of Illegal Ads

Ukrainian KRAIL authorities have strictly alerted gaming providers about illegal promotions and pressurized them with prosecution

While not uncovering any specific instances of ad regulation violations, the KRAIL authorities highlighted the fact that gambling ads are banned in a number of online spaces, together with outdoor ads, and called upon all operators act immediately on fixing law violations from continuing.

The authorities stated in addition:

“In case of acceptable and punctual actions from operators, the regulator will take necessary legal measures in order to stop law violations. The gambling-related regulations exist to prevent social harm, so violating those laws and regulations draws to an increased social risk, which will not be tolerated.”

To demonstrate in a revising manner the situation with gambling and law in Ukraine, the country had banned any gambling activity completely in 2009. However, the authorities have legalized a selection of betting types in the recent years, as well as has secured a range of licenses.

Only a week ago, Ukraine accepted the country’s first ethical gambling law, according to which, the game providers are banned from offering bonuses to players in case of a loss of money, or any type of bonus related to the betting losses.
