A fatal head-on crash happened last Tuesday on Westbound 401, involving two trucks, as a result of which Westbound lanes, where Route 66 Casino is, have closed down.

A fatal crash on westbound lanes at the Westney Road has resulted in the complete shutdown of the highway, which leads to Route 66 Casino, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

Assembling all information that is currently available online about the crash, the head-on crash between two transport trucks resulted in two people are dead, and one is in a critical condition.

The officials advised people to avoid the area, which is west to Route 66 Casino, in the meantime.

The lanes are said to have reopened later in the evening on Sunday, around 7PM.

As for the Route 66 Casino, it has been open on a limited basis and operating under a maximum of 25% capacity since February, according to the Route 66 Casino and Hotel General Manager Adrian Fox.
