William Hill has announced that CEO Ulrik Bengtsson will depart the company when 888 Holdings acquires the brand.

Bengtsson, who has been with William Hill for nearly three years, will leave after the 888 takeover is completed on June 30th.

“As the takeover will be finalized next week it’s high time for me to leave the company and pass the duties to the chief executive officer of 888 Holding, Itai Pazner. I look back on the previous years with pleasure at what we’ve accomplished, which has led to 888 Holdings seeing the huge value of purchasing William Hill.”

explained Bengtsson.

Bengtsson was named Chief Digital Officer in 2018 before being promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Aside from being a CEO, he had to navigate through coronavirus, which had a detrimental impact on William Hill.

Ulrik later handled Caesars Entertainment’s acquisition of the brand and the sale of William Hill’s European assets to 888.

“With Mr Green and William Hill, 888 Holdings has bought great businesses for their brand, and I cannot wait to witness the growth of this merged business in the future.”

added Bengtsson.

“Bengtsson should be quite pleased with the team he has built, and we are very excited to join with William Hill. I am really optimistic about the potential for our new company, which will be led by the best management teams.”

highlighted Pazner.
