“With your future as a bet”: a new Spelinspektionen campaign
The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has started a campaign that explores the effects of gambling for profit and is directed towards young individuals.
The “With your future as a bet” campaign, which targets young adults between the ages of 18 and 25, focuses on unsafe and unhealthy gambling. More information regarding young people’s gambling and where they can get help can be found on a page on the Spelinspektionen website. The campaign will be visible on frequently used digital platforms in order to guarantee that young people are exposed to its messages.
In this initiative to combat the detrimental effects of underage gambling, the Swedish Gambling Inspectorate is collaborating with the Public Health Agency and the Swedish Crown Prosecutor.
Spelinspektionen Head of Communications Yvonne Hejdenberg said:
“Many come into contact with some form of gambling for money via computer games and apps. Through the campaign, we try to talk about the consequences of unhealthy gambling in an emotional way. We believe that the campaign will also be able to speak to adults, especially parents or relatives of children in the target group.”
With two projects centered on match-fixing and illicit activities, Spelinspektionen announced additional measures this month in an attempt to reinforce industry integrity. A revised Responsible Gaming Policy Rule, intended to improve the safety of the online gaming sector, was announced by the Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) today in other news related to responsible gambling.
