Caesars’ New York Casino team promises major investments
The Roc Nation-led team proposed a unique financial commitment to the Hell’s Kitchen Community for Caesars Palace Times Square.
Roc Nation and others from the team organized a meeting with Manhayyan Residents and explained the benefits of the upcoming project.
New York keeps facing casino license delays with a new deadline of June 2025.
Once the casino receives the official approval, the Hell’s Kitchen community will receive an initial $15 million from Caesars Palace Times Square, together with continued grants of 0.5% of the casino’s performance.
Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter said:
“We are New Yorkers. Supporting and providing opportunities for our neighborhoods and community isn’t just a part of Roc Nation’s ethos; it’s our collective responsibility. Any proposal that wins a gaming license will undoubtedly profit. Our vision is to give back to New York and ensure that the Broadway community, Hell’s Kitchen, and the surrounding businesses and areas all benefit. And not just for a minute, but for the long-term.”
Brett Herschenfeld, EVP at SL Green, said:
“We partnered with Roc Nation for a reason and are thrilled to support any Roc Nation-led community initiative that extends the benefits of this project to more New Yorkers.”
This funding would be managed by a newly established trust, overseen by community residents who would act as trustees. They would decide how to use the funds to support important community initiatives like after-school programs, childcare, and senior services.
