Canadian Gaming Summit to spotlight sports betting

The sports wagering track will host numerous insightful discussions during the forthcoming edition of the Canadian Gaming Summit.

The upcoming 26th installment of the conference will present a multitude of excellent opportunities to learn about the expanding Canadian iGaming market and make connections with local industry professionals. Throughout its 10 tracks, numerous top experts will take part in panel discussions and speeches on a variety of curated topics.

One of those tracks will be the aptly named Sports Betting one, which will be a host to six panels covering various aspects and areas of the sports wagering pastime. The track will be held on the busiest day of the event, the 14th of June, which will host four others alongside, such as the Leaders track, which you can learn more about here.

The track will start off with a discussion on the topic of sports wagering in Canada and will cover the optimal ways of navigating the market’s fragmented nature, thanks to various provinces and territories having different laws relating to the pastime and the industry in general.

Before the day’s lunch break, another discussion will be held as part of the panel, this time on the topic of sports wagering integrity. In light of AGCO’s now-reversed decision to ban betting on UFC matches back in December 2022, the panel will touch on how operators can establish guidelines to maintain the integrity of betting and how they can work with various regulatory authorities to further enhance their integrity standards.

Following the lunch break, the track will host a discussion on potential collaborations between sports wagering operators and sports organizations. The panel will take a look at similar existing partnerships, assess their successes, and cover how operators can replicate them.

A discussion involving sports wagering and media will follow next, which will cover why many leading operators are investing in dedicated content streaming operations and how other industry firms can boost their businesses using the combination of the two.

The last discussion of the track will be about wagering on eSports. Panelists will discuss the expanding vertical and talk about the challenges and opportunities associated with it.

Closing off the track will be a speech hosted by the Chief Executive of Rivalry, Steven Salz, who will be sharing his insights on the topic of brand equity and loyalty in the sports betting side of the industry, and how operators can set themselves apart from their competition through a few simple tricks.
