GambleAware grants funding extension to TalkBanStop
TalkBanStop is a collaboration between the gambling charity GamCare and two accompanying services, Gamban and Gamstop. The project advocates for the combination of several gambling harm mitigation tools to achieve better results for problem gamblers and has so far provided free support to over 12 thousand people since its launch back in late 2020.
Through its recently extended funding, the initiative will be able to continue providing Gamban licenses to problem gamblers free of charge and raising awareness for how effective TalkBanStop’s multi-layer approach to gambling problem mitigation can be.
The CEO of GamCare, Anna Hemmings, commented:
“We are thrilled to have received our latest funding extension for our TalkBanStop collaboration, which will allow us to continue building upon our mission of mitigating gambling harms for the UK’s gamblers. Ever since we started working together with GambleAware, there has been quite a lot of positive impact from combining our experiences, and we are eager to continue working with them for the foreseeable future.”
The CCO of GambleAware, Anna Hargrave, remarked:
“Giving problem gamblers access to adequate support and resources is a crucial part of our mission, and we are excited to continue helping TalkBanStop achieve its goals with this latest funding extension. Its multi-layer approach has proven to be quite effective in providing assistance to problem gamblers, as since its launch in 2020 it has been able to reach over 12 thousand people all across the country.”
Back in April, GamCare joined GambleAware’s NGSN initiative, which aims to reduce the harms of problem gambling by utilizing a network of treatment experts spread throughout the United Kingdom. Read more about the NGSN program here.
