Hollywood Casino in Perryville, Maryland, owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Penn National Gaming, has obtained a sports betting permit.

Announced earlier this year, Penn National Gaming’s newest Hollywood Casino York property is finally going to open this Thursday, on August 12 at York Galleria Mall.
Following the official announcements about the grand opening of Penn National Gaming’s newest retail casino property earlier this summer, which you can read more about here and here, Hollywood Casino York’s opening was set on August 12, which is this Thursday.
The new casino property is going to open solid at noon in just two days, at York Galleria Mall in the Springettsbury Township.
According to publicly known details, the retail casino, which embodies a massive building of 80 thousand square feet, will be operating on a 24/7 regime, offering its customers live sportsbooks, more than 500 slot machines, more than 20 table games, as well as other entertainments.
Aside from Hollywood Casino York’s own in-house security team, York County’s Police Department also showed willingness to provide extra support to the hotel’s patrons during the grand opening, in order to prevent any incidents from happening, taking control of the outside of the casino, due to the fact that it will most definitely be crowded.
The local police department lieutenant – Brian Wilbur, explained:
“On August 12, our main focus will be at ensuring customers’ safe entrance and exit from the property, as well as regulating the traffic around the casino.”
