Svenska Spel reaches record Q2 results with World Cup boost

Swedish state-owned operator Svenska Spel has generated record Q2 2026 results with a 7% year-on-year increase in net gaming revenue, reaching €177.7 million, thanks to stronger user engagement driven by the World Cup.

For the three months ending June 30, 2026, the operator’s NGR jumped by 4% compared to Q1 2026, while operating profit increased to €56.1 million, representing a 13% year-on-year rise. Additionally, group operating margins also slightly improved from 30% to 31%.

President and CEO of Svenska Spel, Anna Johnson, commented:

“It is the best second quarter since the re-regulation of the gaming market in 2019, with increased net gaming revenue, improved operating profit, and strengthened operating margin. We have a clear focus on more customers choosing Svenska Spel, and the development during the quarter shows that our priorities are having an effect. We continue to create sustainable growth by improving the customer offering, developing the gaming experience, and strengthening our product brands.”

Regarding the World Cup, the company shared that promotional campaigns and new offers helped boost operations during the tournament period, with the operator’s collaboration with the Swedish Football Association serving as an additional driver of visibility during the World Cup.

Svenska Spel revealed that Eurojackpot and Lotto were behind the strong growth as well, while sports and casino revenue increased by 11%. On the other hand, the Vegas segment saw a revenue decline of 16%.
