ESPN introduces account linkings with Penn’s ESPN Bet

A worldwide basic cable sports channel, ESPN introduces account linking options for customers in partnership with Penn Entertainment’s latest addition, ESPN Bet.

ESPN.com users can now link their betting accounts to ESPN Bet and receive a more personalized betting experience with their favorite sports teams and players. The account linking can be easily set up through a prompt in the ESPN Bet app or by navigating to the app’s settings.

Companies issued the following statement:

“With this product enhancement, ESPN BET will soon bring fans more personalized bets and timely promotions based on their favorite sports, teams, players, and fantasy rosters. Account linking can be accessed either via a prompt within the ESPN BET app or by visiting settings within the latest versions of the ESPN BET or ESPN apps or ESPN.com.”

This is a strategic move as Penn, which owns ESPN Bet, invests $1.5 billion over a decade for the exclusive use of the ESPN brand.

Penn Entertainment’s CTO, Aaron LaBerge, stated:

“Account linking allows us to better serve and engage our users by unlocking key personalization and promotional capabilities. This feature is just the beginning of deeper integrations that will further differentiate the ESPN BET experience.”

ESPN Bet is now available in 18 states, including New York, where the debut took longer than expected. Penn Entertainment is prioritizing the advancement of ESPN Bet’s technological capabilities, and the news of account linking is part of the strategy.
