KSA to apply financial sanctions

The Dutch gambling authority, KSA, gave one of Netherland’s regulated gambling operators 20 days to submit the full details of the company’s management changes.

Being the independent administrative body, the supervisor and regulator of gambling services in the European part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, KSA required one of the country’s regulated gambling operators to submit a full, detailed report on its management changes.

KSA did not announce the operator’s name but said its violation of regulations is in relation to the KSA’s recent takeover. KSA was required to check whether casino operators had employees who had previously been involved in illegal gambling or criminal activity.

KSA stated:

“The operator sent incomplete information, despite the regulator asking for the full details “on several occasions. Because the KSA cannot now perform the reliability test, the provider is in violation,” the regulator said. As such, the operator must pay €25,000 for every day in which it does not provide the full information, up to a maximum fine of €250,000. As soon as the correct information has been provided in full, the violation will stop.”

All casino operators are required to prove their reliability with accurate information provided to KSA, and if the KSA’s investigation reveals doubts about the operator’s reliability or information, the KSA may take enforcement measures.

Recently, the Netherlands even faced criticism over gambling regulations. The country was discussing the advertising terms and conditions on gambling with the aim to protect society, especially the vulnerable groups.
